The White Party/Pure 2008

By adding together a white storm that blanked Staten Island, two different live DJ’s (DJ Ka-Leaf and Josephus the DJ), an electronically projected collaborative mural station (ran by Mike Zaloom), and several old yet familiar faces decked out in white, a pure Vibe took place at the Muddy Cup to end the 2008 year with a bang!
Many embraced the nasty weather and slow holiday sales to experience four of the best performances and catered food that five bucks can buy … For starters, the man they call Dave Noodlez and his partner in crime, Paul Marz kicked off the extravaganza with an always arousing, opening act that set the stage for an entire evening of excitement and off-the-chart entertainment … Next, Quest the Wordsmith followed them up with a hip-hop eliptic that was simply Christocentric … Thirdly, Mark D spat solidified realism that many in the hip-hop game are afraid to do, leaving even his very wife in absolute awe … Lastly, the one and only Aquavibe brought their mix-hop experience to the table that had the whole crowd not only standing on their feet and bobbing their heads, but thirsting for lots more when the event was over … At the end of the night, no matter your performer, moment, or environment of choice, the fact of the matter is that the Vibe is geared towards creating an intimate, loving, and conspiring revolution like none other, and with Vibe catalyst, Alissa’s words fresh in the soul, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same!!!
