What Another Beautiful Mess!
Chapter two of the three-part “Beautiful Mess” series has been written and in all actuality, the auditions for the upcoming film release have been nothing but magnificent! In fact, “Trails from the Greenbelt” member, Doug and long-time Viber, The Chico have offered to help out with the overall production process and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the forward direction of this project! Just think: your favorite artists coming together to display and perform their poems, music, and drawings all around the New York City area for a future DVD release! Don’t forget that every qualified performer will be announced once next month’s open mic night has been completed!
Also throughout the evening … Mike did caricature drawings with people getting to take home a personal portrait of their very selves … Ronald shared his ill beat-boxing capabilities … Manny set a record for the most consecutive performances of “La Bamba” at the Vibe … Ken Mills delighted as always … Jack Freedman proved why he is one of the all-around best poets of today … Tom Weiss gave his usually fine, political discourse on the messiness of our beautiful country … First timer, Amber Gipson showed that she can not only sing a fine tune but play one on the guitar …
Jaclyn Shaw did the same but with a unique blend of her own… Victoria returned with her eloquent piece of poetry… John Cruz aka The Prophet of Doom and Poetic Syndrome, two individual lyricists from the Vibe’s New Year’s Masquerade Ball, brought it back to what is real in urban civilization … and finally, Noodlez concluded the evening with “Fallin From The Sky,” a song that should be the official Vibe anthem! For more information on several of the artists listed, check on the sidebar to the right, and a big shout-out thank you to Just Words who apparently bakes off-the-hook cupcakes in his leisure time!!!
