June Recap

Joe Joe and Jeremy co-hosted the Vibe’s June Open Mic Night, which featured several fresh faces and regulars from the past … Dave Noodlez kicked off the evening with a slammin’ verse about the rules for a societal “Fight Club” of his very own …Mary Dimino, who has appeared on David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, and The Chris Rock Show, went next with a rather perky comedic performance …Tom Weiss returned with his usual anti-Clinton and pro-John Rocker … Mike Z. entertained the crowd with a terrific juggling routine to the sweet tunes of Linkin Park …Newcomers Christina and Betheny individually shared their fine poetry and singing, however, the deal between the two friends was that one would only sign up if the other showed … Vibez torn up the stage twice in the evening to his ever-improving flex tunes … ‘General’ Ken Mills discussed the woes of relationships and should market his ‘Ken’s back!” pat on the back … Manny came to testify with his cry for ‘La Bamba’ … Jack Freedman shared a little about himself, mental health, and terrific spoken word as always … Rapper, Austin ripped the stage with ear-splitting lyrics that left some in the crowd speechless … Gina performed for the first time, singing ‘C.S. Lewis Song’ by Brooke Fraser … Kami mesmerized with her vocals as usual … Noodlez’ running-mate, Paul Marz, capped off the night and proved that despite his issues with anger earlier in his life, true hip-hop like his is therapeutic for the soul …
