Masquerade Madness …

The last vibe of the 2007 year was probably the biggest event to date, with plenty of people coming out, 24 hours before the ball dropped in Times Square to experience a “Masquerade Ball” like never before. Whether it was the pleasant-sounding, acoustic tunes of guitarist Paul Strayfer with the lovely Yakovah, the raw, charismatic energy of rapper Mark. D, the talented newcomer Bethsaida, or the old-school meets new scratching originator DJ Danny Estrella, a packed house was able to experience several of the best up-and-coming musicians on the rise here in Staten Island and the New York City Area.

As people chomped down on their mouth-watering dinners, Rev White Chocolate addressed the crowd with his always entertaining freestyles and witty sense of humor, presenting a Vibe video montage of 2007 in review:

Vibe catalyst Alissa then separately spoke about the masks people wear in life, and how some are living a Masquerade lie, 365 days a year. Instead of making another cheesy new year’s resolution, what would happen if some of us truly removed the masks that we are always trying to hide behind for the 2008 year?

She also mentioned the Vibe mural station that was going on at the side of the stage throughout the night, with various people getting to express themselves using acrylic paint. Big thanks to Mike and Gina for and every single person that helped turn that place upside down!

If anyone has any other pictures, videos, comments, questions, or talents they would like to share/promote, feel free to email sal@comevibewithus.com. Big thanks to everyone who helped out in some way, shape, or form with the Vibe in the 2007 year, and here’s hoping to a fresh, new start for the 0-8!!!
